Homemade. Hand dipped. That was the goal of Robert Untiedt when he first opened Graham's Chocolates in December of 1987. Since then he has expanded Graham's into two retail shops and one coffee shop, and with his two daughters on the rise, it has truly become a family-run business. Robert fell in love with candy during his years teaching music to high schoolers, as this became a second job for him on the weekends. After the chocolate bug bit him, he began working full-time under some of the best chocolatiers in the midwest before deciding to open his own store. But where? Location, location, location. After searching for the right place for his store, he settled on beautiful downtown Geneva. A place rich in history, small shops and devoted sidewalk traffic.
Robert, his wife Beckie, and their two daughters Jayni & Maddi live just a short 5 minutes from the store and with both his daughters getting married this year, things are a little crazy in the Untiedt household. Robert still runs the stores, and you can find him in the kitchen with a white chef coat on and his wife Beckie is really the heart and soul of the beautifying aspect of the stores. Daughter Jayni graduated from Columbia and works as Graham's premier graphic designer and pastry chef for their coffeeshop fulltime and Maddi is finishing up college. As a family, the Untiedt's have so much to be thankful for, and without wonderful customers who really believe in this business, they would not be where they are today. So thank you!!
